The Owensboro Board of Education is currently conducting a search for the district's next superintendent. State law requires the Board have a screening committee, of which includes a parent representative. If you are interested in serving on this committee or you would like to nominate another parent, please do so in the link below. The deadline for nominations is the end of the day Friday, September 15, 2023. PTO Presidents from the schools will vote on the representative.

The first OHS home football game of the season is this Friday night against Bowling Green High School. The start time has been pushed to 8 p.m. due to heat. Gates open at 7 p.m. Please familiarize yourself with the OPS Athletics Safety policy found in the link below before arriving at the game.

Dr. Matthew Constant has announced that he will remove the interim tag from both Debbie Wathen (Hager Preschool) and Dr. Jennifer Scarborough (Seven Hills Preschool) and naming them full directors of preschool in our district!


The Daviess County and Owensboro Public Schools districts are proud to announce their partnership with the Public Life Foundation and Ready4K. There is absolutely no cost to enroll. Families entering preschool for the 2023-24 school year in either district will automatically be signed up beginning July 1. Families with children aged birth to three years old can voluntarily enroll by texting “GOPED” to 70138.

Owensboro Public Schools has named Newton Parrish Elementary Principal Alicia Storm the district’s next Director of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. She will replace Janie Boarman who will be retiring at the end of the school year. Storm has served as principal of Newton Parrish Elementary since July of 2020.

Online Registration is now open for the 2023-24 school year!
Returning families can visit startolr.com to complete registration. All of your information will be saved from the previous year. It is important to make sure that all of your information is current and up-to-date for contact information, address and more.
Families who are new to the district will need to visit the school in which their child will attend to get information on how to sign in to complete online registration.

The dates for commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2023 have been announced!
Owensboro Innovation Academy: Saturday, May 20 at 10:30 am at Owensboro Christian Church
Emerson: Wednesday, May 24, at 6 pm in the OHS Auditorium
Owensboro High School: Wednesday, May 24 at 7:30 pm at Rash Stadium.
(Rain Date will be Thursday, May 25 at 7:30 pm or Friday May 26 at 7:30 pm)
