Owensboro Public Schools will be CLOSED due to weather on Friday, January 19, 2024. This will be a normal snow day and NOT an NTI day.

Due to the possibility of freezing rain during the school day, Owensboro Public Schools will be CLOSED today, January 18, 2024. This will be a traditional snow day. There will NOT be an NTI day today.

Our district is closely monitoring a potential winter weather system that could once again impact our area tomorrow during the school day. We are expecting another update from the National Weather Service very early tomorrow morning that will provide more accurate timing of that system and at which point the district will make a decision for school tomorrow. We understand this is an inconvenience for families, but for the safety of our students, their families and our staff, we can't have our buses and families on the roads in icy conditions. As always, we will ONLY make an announcement if we cancel in-person learning. If you don't get another message, treat the day like you would a normal school day.

Due to extreme cold weather and still some dangerous road conditions, Owensboro Public Schools will utilize a nontraditional instruction (NTI) day again tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Central Office will be closed to the public tomorrow as well. Staff should refer to the NTI memo about reporting to their building or not tomorrow.

Due to extreme cold weather and dangerous road conditions, Owensboro Public Schools will utilize a nontraditional instruction (NTI) day tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Central Office will be closed to the public tomorrow as well. Staff should refer to the NTI memo about reporting to their building or not tomorrow.

As our area prepares for potential winter weather over the weekend, Owensboro Public Schools will be sending home materials for nontraditional instruction (NTI) for all students in the event a decision is made for Tuesday classes. (School is not in session Monday, January 15 for MLK Day).
This 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 mean the district has made a decision about Tuesday. We are only sending materials home to be prepared in the event we have to call off school. Again, this 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 mean a decision has been made for Tuesday.
As a reminder, we have attached NTI expectations for students and staff to this post. Please take the time to review those expectations so you are prepared in the event of the district utilizing an NTI day.

As we approach the winter weather season, we wanted to remind our students, their families and our staff about expectations should the district choose to utilize a nontraditional instruction (NTI) day this year. Please find information about your student's grade level in the link below.
