Happy Thanksgiving to all of the Owensboro Public Schools family! We hope you have a wonderful, safe weekend surrounded by your loved ones! We will see you back in class on Monday, December 1 for the final push of the semester!

The Owensboro Board of Education approved the 2026-27 School Calendar last night during the Board meeting. This calendar can also be found on the homepage of the District website as well as under Menu > Parents tab on the district website.

Join us on December 11th from 5-6:15 for Suttons North Pole Party! It will be a fun night of games, snacks, crafts, reading, and more! Students will go home today with sign-up sheets to list all guest who will be attending the event. Forms are due by Dec. 1.

Our first successful Kona Ice Day with 4th and 5th graders was a huge success! Thank you to all of those who "paid it forward" so all of our 4th and 5th graders were able to enjoy a Kona Ice on such a beautiful day! Don't worry other grades will have their Kona Ice Day later in this school year. Have a safe break! See you on Monday, October 20th

Burris's 2nd graders shared with Hoffman's Kindergarten students the books they each created titled "The Most Important Thing about School". 2nd graders have been comparing our school to schools around the world as part of their EL reading curriculum.

Ag Day is this Wednesday - September 17! Students will be able to dress up in their favorite farm attire!

All Pro Pals dates have been scheduled! Each session for Mighty Ma's and All Pro Dads will be held at 7:15 in the gym.

Reminder: Registration for our new OBA Elementary Developmental Basketball league for 2nd thru 5th grade elementary school students ends Sept 12. IF there are multiple students in the same household wanting to register, a registration form must be completed for EACH student.

Registration Fee will be added to each student's "School Cash Online" payment option following the end of the registration window. So there is no payment required upfront.

This upcoming Tuesday, September 9th, is High Attendance Day. To encourage high attendance, it will be Pajama Day and the cafeteria will be serving long johns for breakfast!

Every other month we will host either"All Pro Dad" or "Mighty Moms". We encourage students to either bring their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, or a positive male role model to All Pro Dad. Likewise, we encourage students to invite their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, or a positive female role model to Mighty Moms. During these meetings we provide a light breakfast and spend time diving into character topics such as problem solving, creativity, integrity, service, and more! We hope you will join us! As always, our meetings are open to everyone!

The first meeting is All Pro Dads THIS Friday at 7:15 - we cannot wait to see you!
