Just a few more days! Your child's teacher may have already reached out to you, but if you haven't been contacted, we are continuing to make a push to get logged in to our dismissal app School Dismissal Manager and set your child's default dismissal for the first day. This lets us know how your child will be getting home!
While there will always be some delays the first few days as everyone gets used to the dismissal process, we want to ensure that everything is efficient and safe.
We have also had a couple of questions about Car Tags. We will still be issuing those, but we will send those home the first week of school to any and all parents that have been entered in to SDM as a pick-up parent (either Guardian or View Only Parent).

Registration - Starts 8/31 & ends 9/13 (registration link will be sent out district-wide at a later date)
Season Dates : Practices start week of 10/5, 4th/5th grade games start 10/24 & final day of games 12/19. (NO games on Thanksgiving weekend!)
Grade Divisions :
- 2nd/3rd grade (fundamentals, fun, learning the game & non-competitive games during practice times)
- 4th/5th grade (fundamentals, fun & competitive games each Saturday throughout the season)
Cost :
- 2nd/3rd grade division - $20
- 4th/5th grade division - $35

With about a week and a half until the first day of school, we're making another push for our parents to go ahead and get logged in to School Dismissal Manager to set your child's default dismissal so our teachers and staff will be aware for the first day of school. At the moment, we have about 300 or so students that are still UNASSIGNED.
Remember that this will cause significant delays the first day of school if this isn't set for parents to be able to check-in when they arrive.
If we have an email address in Infinite Campus for you, an email has been sent that provides new users with a temporary password to get logged in. If you are a returning user, you are able to log in with the credentials you used last year.
Log in and go to the Menu and select "Default Dismissals"
If you have any questions or concerns or need an email to be resent, go ahead and email the Assistant Principal since our messaging service through Rooms is not up and running yet either...

As you know by now, Sutton uses a dismissal app/website called School Dismissal Manager. We are now ready for you to login and set your child's default dismissal. This is a requirement and must be done before the first day of school, or we can expect large delays in safely dismissing your child to the correct spot. This must be done for bus riders as well for parents who have their children ride the bus.
Look for an email in just a few minutes from SDM that includes your login credentials. PLEASE CHECK SPAM FOLDER as well. For returning parents from last year, the same username and password should work. For new-to-Sutton parents who are logging in for the first time, there is a temporary password that you'll use before setting up your permanent one. Your email that we have on file will be your username. We still have about 50 or so parents that do not have an email and need to login to the OPS app to respond to a message from the front office with that email so we can get you logged in, or you can respond to this email as well. SDM has a welcome letter that will give you a lot of the details you will need to know.

Sutton Families please take 2 minutes to check your notification settings in the Owensboro Public Schools app!
Why: The app's notification preferences default to another school alphabetically, not Sutton. If this isn't corrected, you will not receive push notifications, alerts, or messages from Sutton Elementary.
This is especially important right now because we're sending individual messages to families who are missing an email address on file, and every family will need an email address on file to access School Dismissal Manager, our new dismissal app, starting on the first day of school.
If your notification settings aren't correct, you could miss a message asking you to update your email (and others) and that could delay your access to dismissal on day one.
How to fix it:
1. Open the OPS app and tap More (bottom right)
2. Tap the gear icon (Settings) in the top right
3. Tap Notification preferences
4. Tap Groups
5. Check the box for Sutton Elementary School and Owensboro Public Schools, and uncheck any other school listed
6. Tap Save
