OMS Boys Basketball Team

The Owensboro Middle School 6th grade boys basketball team capped off an amazing regular season with a runner-up finish in the KABC State Middle School basketball tournament.

The team finished the regular season with an 18-3 record.  The first weekend in January, they headed to Lexington to compete in the KABC 6th Grade State Tournament and went 5-0 and moved on to the Final Four that was played on February 14th at Transylvania University.

OMS defeated Green County in the Final Four game and moved to the championship game to take on Echo Trail.  After falling down by 17 early in the game, the Red Devils took a 3 point lead with less than a minute to go but eventually lost by 2 in the final seconds.

This was the first 6th grade squad that we have had to compete in the state tournament and we are so proud of their efforts.  We would like to thank Coach Anthony Tate and Coach Dewayne Rogers for the time that they have put in with our OMS squad.
