Owensboro Middle School recently learned they will receive a $2,500 Dollar General Literacy Foundation Grant.
The grant will provide 101 middle school students who are English Language Learners with on-grade level books of interest to students to help bridge the learning language gaps.
The books will be sent home with students to enrich vocabulary and exposure to English and the hope it to improve understanding of the language.
Teachers will continue to work with students on comprehension, competency and language similarities and differences through use of these books.
