The application for incoming freshmen wishing to attend the Owensboro Innovation Academy during the 2025-26 school year.
Students wishing to apply should be:
-Focused on their post-secondary goals, whether that is college or career
-Excited to learn in an environment where students are active learners
-Interested in some aspect of science and/or technology
-Curious about how things work, and have a desire to design solutions to real-world problems
-Willing to work with others on complex projects and able to hold self and others accountable
-Able to succeed when the teacher acts as a coach or guide rather than a “boss”
-Have a balanced perspective of learning and socialization
This is a lottery process for applicants. Applications are open from now until February 28. A committee will meet to conduct the lottery process and decisions will be mailed out by March 28.
Representatives from the Owensboro Innovation Academy will be making visits to middle schools in Owensboro and Daviess County in coming weeks to provide additional information about the school and the application process. Please stay tuned to your school's communication tools for more information about these dates.
The Owensboro Innovation Academy will also host two Open House nights for students and families who are interested to learn more about the school. Those will be held on February 25 from 6-7:30 p.m. and February 26 from 4-5:30 p.m.
