Book Fair starts this week! Students can shop with their grandparents on their Grandparents Breakfast day. The Book Fair will also be open during Parent Teacher Conferences this week on Tuesday and Thursday. There will be NO before school shopping, but you may send money to school with your student to shop during their library class. Don't forget, you can always set up an eWallet for your student. School wide Parent Teacher Conferences are Tuesday, October 20th and Thursday, October 22nd from 3:30-6:30. Teachers have sent out a request (digital or paper) for sign ups. Please take the time to sign up for conferences this evening in order for our teachers to have materials prepared for all conferences. If you have any questions, please reach out to your students teacher directly. We are looking forward to sharing the amazing things our cubs are doing in the classroom!

Our leadership students had a busy and rewarding day of community service yesterday at the Boys & Girls Club! They helped wash the vans that transport our students from Cravens to the facility each day, washed pumpkins for an afternoon craft project, and picked up trash around the buildings.
After giving back to the community, the students headed to Donato’s to learn about pizza making and the restaurant business. They wrapped up the day by making their own pizzas and enjoying the delicious results!
We are proud of our leadership students for their hard work, willingness to serve others, and enthusiasm for learning new things. What a great day of service, teamwork, and hands-on learning!

Fall Break begins tomorrow for Owensboro Public Schools! We will be out tomorrow through next week. Central Office will also be closed to the public next week as well. We hope everyone has a relaxing and safe Fall Break and we will see all of our students back in class on Monday, October 19!

REMINDER: The Owensboro Police Department will be hosting a Cops & Bobbers event TONIGHT October 6th at 5:00pm located at Jack C. Fisher Park. It is a community policing initiative that builds positive relationships between local law enforcement and children in our community. This fun, educational event gives children the chance to spend time outdoors with local officers while learning the fundamentals of fishing. While the event is geared toward children, families are welcome and encouraged to participate together! Cops & Bobbers is all about creating a positive, informal environment where children, adults, families, and officers can interact, ask questions, and get to know one another while developing a better understanding of the role law enforcement plays in our community — and hopefully catching some fish along the way!
Frank Miller and Son Sporting Goods will be providing bait, and KY Dept of Fish & Wildlife will be on-site with fishing poles available to borrow. OPD will provide grilled hot dogs and chips at no cost to attendees, while supplies last. Exemptions for fishing license during the event only.
Bring the family, enjoy some time outdoors, meet our officers, and cast a line with us at Cops & Bobbers! October 6th, 5-7 PM
