This past Friday, one teacher at Cravens Elementary received an unexpected surprise.
In front of the entire third grade class and her fellow third grade teachers, Mrs. Cassidy Stewart was surprised with the Green River Region Educational Cooperative's New Teacher of the Year award.
"This is just a huge blessing," said Stewart. "I had gone through the application process, but had no idea I was a finalist, let alone the winner of this award."
In addition to being named New Teacher of the Year, Stewart will also receive a full tuition scholarship to pursue her Masters Degree through the Elevate Academy.
"If I could clone her, I absolutely would," said Cravens Principal Natalie Ellis. "She truly loves each and every one of her students and works so hard to make sure they have everything they need to be successful."
