Cravens PBIS Silver Status

Cravens Elementary School has achieved Silver status for their implementation of PBIS by the Kentucky Department of Education and the Green River Region Educational Cooperative.

This is the second year in a row Cravens has earned this distinction.

The Kentucky Department of Education awards this recognition to schools based on their implementation at fidelity as defined in the State Recognition of Fidelity Standards.

Of the 221 schools in the state that applied, Cravens was one of the few selected.

PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, is an evidence-based, school-wide framework designed to improve student behavior, social-emotional competence, and academic success by establishing positive and safe learning environments.

Instead of solely punishing misbehavior, PBIS focuses on proactively teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors through clear expectations, positive recognition, and data-driven decision-making.

This approach creates a shared, common language and understanding of desired behaviors throughout the school, leading to a more positive school culture and better outcomes for all students.
