OHS Students Recognized by College Board for Academic Achievements

Twenty-three students from Owensboro High School have earned national recognition from College Board for their academic achievements.

College Board's National Recognition Program gives high-achieving students an official academic award they can easily share with colleges on their applications to get noticed. Students of all backgrounds from schools nationwide are eligible to claim an award based on their achievement on PSAT/NMSQT (10th or 11th grade), PSAT 10 (10th), or AP Exams (8th, 9th or 10th).

Awardees are among the highest achieving students in their communities, including those from lesser-known high schools, and as a result, many colleges are eager to recruit them.

By claiming a National Recognition Program award(s), eligible students have a tangible way to share their academic achievements with colleges and their communities.

To be eligible, 10th and 11th grade students must earn a cumulative GPA of B+ or higher and either score 3 or above on two or more AP Exams by the end of 10th grade. They also qualify if they’re one of the top 10% of test takers─in their high school, among first-generation college students in their state, and/or among rural and small-town students in their state.
