Third grade students at Newton Parrish Elementary are hosting a fundraiser to help build a well in Africa that coincides with their "Ripple Effect"unit on water.
Each year, students choose a real-world issue connected to water and create a project to make a difference. This year, the issue they have chosen to tackle is access to water and are raising funds and working with an organization in Africa that will build a well in the school's name for a community that currently has no access to clean water.
The cost of building a well is $350 and will provide clean water access for four families.
The fundraiser is currently ongoing and will run through April 2. If you are interested in contributing to this effort, please contact the school at 270-686-1100.
