Todd Harper, Owensboro High School’s Athletic Administrator, has dedicated 26 years to serving students and athletics at OHS. His career includes 12 years as a basketball coach, 14 years as an athletic administrator, and the past nine years as the District Director of Athletics.

Harper has spearheaded a $21 million renovation of Owensboro’s athletic facilities, modernizing programs while preserving tradition. Projects include upgrades to the school’s 100-year-old football stadium, renovations to the soccer and lacrosse complex with new locker rooms and a press box, complete overhauls of the baseball and softball fields, and the addition of a state-of-the-art hitting facility used by multiple teams. These improvements will benefit countless student-athletes across the district for years to come.

Focused on long-term development, Harper recently helped launch an elementary instructional league to support student-athletes at an early age. He has also prioritized safety by pioneering the use of the Opengate portable weapons detection system at all home athletic events, providing added peace of mind for spectators and participants.

Beyond Owensboro HS, Harper serves as president of the 3rd Region Policy Board and represents the 3rd Region on the KAAA Board of Directors. He works closely with community members and local businesses to enhance equipment, resources, and experiences for student-athletes.

This year, Harper celebrated a historic milestone as Owensboro High School captured its first football state championship in 39 years. His leadership has been widely recognized, earning him 3rd Region Athletic Director of the Year honors in 2022 and 2025, as well as finalist recognition for the Father Harry Jensing Athletic Director of the Year Award in 2025.  Congratulations to Todd Harper for being the Athletic Administrator of the month for January.
