During last Thursday's Regularly Scheduled Board Meeting, the Food Service Department presented their annual Food Service Employee of the Year Award to Ms. Kim Jewell.
Reading comments from Jewell's peers, Food Service Director Kaitlyn Blankendaal read the following:
Kim Jewell is everyone’s favorite lunch lady. She really cares about making sure that the kids are happy and taken care of everyday. Her name is the first name in the kitchen that they learn. If she’s missing they immediately ask, “Where’s Miss Kim?” with genuine concern and disappointment that they’ve missed their daily interaction with her. When something is bothering them many times she is the person they confide in. She gives the same time and attention to coworkers, she treats us all equally and is oftentimes our biggest cheerleader. She tries to turn daily duties into a game, not only improving our moods but also efficiency. Even when personal trials come her way she maintains her positivity and when others face trials she is always there to provide support however she can. She’s the lunch lady that we all hope to be, but there can only be one Miss Kim.
Jewell was presented with a certificate and a plaque with her name engraved on it during the Board Recognitions section of the meeting.
