Owensboro, Ky. (February, 18, 2025) – Owensboro High School athletic director Todd Harper and principal Jennifer Luttrell have named DaMarcus Ganaway as the school’s football coach. Ganaway will take over for longtime head coach Jay Fallin who resigned from the position following the 2024 season.
“I am excited to step into the role of head coach of the Owensboro High School Red Devils,” said Ganaway. “Owensboro’s football program and its tradition of excellence is a legacy I am honored to uphold. I can’t wait to work with the great coaches, talented athletes and the dedicated community that make Friday nights at Rash Stadium truly special.”
Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ganaway was an All-American wide receiver at Kentucky Wesleyan College. He signed an undrafted free agent contract with the New York Jets of the National Football League in 2011 and spent one year with the team before he helped create Dynasty Sports Performance, a business dedicated to aiding youth athleticism development and collegiate recruitment.
Ganaway comes to Owensboro High School after serving as the wide receiver coach and passing game coordinator for Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to his time at Mandarin, Ganaway had previous stops as the offensive coordinator for Christ Church Academy in Jacksonville and the head coach of Bosse High School in Evansville, Indiana. He also spent 2017-2020 as the head coach of Ohio County (KY) High School following one year as the team's wide receivers coach.
“We are thrilled to have DaMarcus lead our football program,” said athletic director Todd Harper. “We had several highly qualified candidates for the role, but DaMarcus’ experience at the highest levels of football and his passion for developing student-athletes to their fullest potential will be a great asset to continue the success and tradition of the Owensboro High School football program.”
Ganaway will be the 30th head coach in the program’s history (since 1895) and just the sixth in the last 60 years.
He will be introduced at a press conference on Tuesday, February 18 at 5 p.m. in the Owensboro High School auditorium. The event will be open to the public.
