Owensboro Public Schools will host a number of events to honor the veterans of the United States Armed Forces who reside in our community.
The following schools will host an assembly at the school that educates students about Veterans Day and recognizes the veterans in attendance by branch of service:
Newton Parrish - November 8 at 1:30 p.m.
Estes - November 11 at 9 a.m.
Cravens Elementary - November 11 at 1:30 p.m.
Foust - November 13 at 8:15 a.m.
In addition to the assemblies mentioned above, the following schools have other special events planned:
Sutton - Sutton Elementary will host a Veterans Day Breakfast November 8 at 7:30 a.m. Veteran family members of students are invited to join them for a special breakfast at the school that morning.
Owensboro Middle School - Owensboro Middle School will host an Honor Walk for veterans November 11 at 8 a.m. Students will line the halls of the school and veterans will walk through the halls being honored by the students. This event is open to any veteran in our community who would like to attend. All participants must sign in at the front office upon arrival. Veterans will be provided a small breakfast following the walk.
Owensboro High School - Owensboro High School will host a special Veterans Breakfast presented by school's JROTC program November 11 at 10 a.m. Veterans who are family members of students are welcome to join the school for this event. All visitors must check into the office upon arrival.
