Strategic Plan
Jared Revlett

The Owensboro Public Schools Board of Education approved the district plan that will help guide decision making for the next five years.

The plan was constructed over the past year with assistance from Studer as well as gathering information and data from stakeholders. The steering committee spent months organizing data and putting together a plan that meets the needs of our students with support from families, staff and the community.

The two documents of the strategic plan outline the district's goals for the next five years and how leadership intends to measure the success of those goals.

Blandford Named Principal at Foust
Jared Revlett

Has served as interim principal of the school since July 2021.

The Foust Elementary Site-Based Decision Making Council has named Beth Blandford principal of Foust Elementary School, removing the interim tag she held for the past year. Blandford continues to fill the role created by longtime Foust Principal Janie Moseley who accepted a position at the district’s Central Office last summer.

As a full time principal, I just want to continue to build relationships with the students and the families,” said Blandford. I just want to make their elementary school experience the best that it can be and prepare them for the world.”

Blandford was appointed to this role after a year as the school’s interim principal. Prior to that, Blandford spent three years as Assistant Principal of Foust. She began her career as a Preschool Teacher at Hager Preschool for two years before moving into a combined 12 years as Kindergarten teacher and Reading Intervention Specialist at Foust.

Blandford received her BS in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education from  the University of Kentucky. She also holds a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Brescia, and a Rank I in Administration from Western Kentucky University.

In this role, Blandford will be responsible for the overall administration of the school while working in conjunction with teachers and others to maintain a school culture of results-oriented collaborative learning. She will also be responsible for creating the school’s yearly Continuous Improvement Plan, complying with federal and state testing programs, and planning and implementing professional development for staff.

As a superintendent I cannot be happier with the decision of our council. Beth has been what we need at this moment. It’s been an honor to work alongside her during all of my 12 years at OPS,” said Dr. Constant. “Beth was the natural choice for principal because of her experience at the school for several years. The students know her and she is familiar with the day-to-day operations of the building.”
