Moseley Named Director of Multi-Tiered Support Systems

mosleyOwensboro Public Schools superintendent Dr. Matthew Constant has named Foust Principal Janie Moseley as the district’s first Director of Multi-Tiered Support Systems. Moseley will officially move into the new role effective July 1, 2021.

“I feel that there is a moral imperative to have systems in place at every school to ensure that each student is seen and supported as an individual.” said Moseley. “I am excited about the possibility of making an impact at the district level and I can’t wait  to help each OPS school find success on behalf of their students through their response to intervention and multi-tiered support system process.”

Moseley is moving to this role after spending the past 15 years as Principal of Foust Elementary School. She began her career as a classroom teacher at Cravens Elementary School for three years before moving into the curriculum facilitator position at the same school. She then moved to Foust Elementary where she held the same role for three years before being named Principal.

Moseley received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Kentucky Wesleyan College. She also holds a Masters degree in Elementary Education with a reading and writing specialization, a Rank I in K-12 Educational Administration from Western Kentucky University and additional administration certification coursework from the University of Tennessee.

In this role, Moseley will develop a framework of strong core instruction and behavior supports on a tiered system to

support individualized student success. She will be responsible for measuring varying levels of assessment and implement evidence based instructional practices to raise student achievement.

“Janie’s experience and success as the principal at Foust make her the perfect person to lead our district in raising student achievement across all schools,” said Dr. Constant. “She has made an immeasurable impact on our families in the Foust neighborhood over the past 15 years and I know she will bring the same passion and expertise to this position that will benefit all students across the district.”

Dr. Constant will be meeting with the Foust Elementary Site-Based Council in the coming days to discuss next steps in a search for the next principal of the school.
