OPS to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month October 11-15

Owensboro Public Schools is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month beginning this week with a number of activities to recognize Hispanic Heritage in our community.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Monday - Let's Talk Hispanic Culture

Community members, parents and students will be sharing their culture with the district through videos for all students, parents and community to learn more about the Hispanic Culture.

Tuesday - Taco Tuesday

Our cafeteria staff in each school will be serving Hispanic cuisine to all of the students in the district.

Wednesday - Cultural Pride Day

Students are encouraged to dress up in apparel that represents their individual culture and share stories with others about their background.

Thursday - Festival de arte "Arts Festival"

We will be celebrating Hispanic artwork while learning about Hispanic artists. Artwork from our students will be displayed throughout the halls of each school.

Friday - Let's Celebrate

Each school will choose how they would like to celebrate cultural pride month in their individual buildings.
