HOW
TO IMPORT PICTURES FROM GOOGLE INTO
BOARDMAKER
Open Boardmaker to
a new board.
Go to Google.com,
click on Images (top left of screen).
Search for the
image you want.
Example “Tub”
Click on the
picture you want
A larger picture
should pop-up and then you should RIGHT
CLICK on that picture
Chose “copy”
Click back on the
Boardmaker window
Make sure the
cursor is flashing in the window where
you type the name of words, but don’t
type anything, just choose CONTROL + V
and it will bring up another window
Called MY SYMBOLS
Type in the name
of the word (what you want this picture
to be called)
Then click ASSIGN
CATEGORIES. It has a big list of
choices. I chose ‘other home’ under
HOME.
Click OK
Then OK again (if
it asks a second time)
You should then
see your picture in the picture window
with the name of the picture on the name
line.
It is now in your
dictionary.
How
to import a picture from a website to
your computer
Have the page open
so you see the picture you want. Click
on Ctrl + PrtScn (stands for Print
Screen, just to the right of the F12
key).
Then open Paint or
Word, click on Ctrl + V (paste) and it
will paste the picture into that
document. If you want to crop out parts
of the picture, it’s easier to use
Paint. Click on the crop square, move
it to surround the area you want, click
Ctrl + X (to cut it), then click n File
and New (it will ask if you want to save
changes, say no)
Then when the new
Paint document opens, click Ctrl + V and
it will paste it there. Save it as
whatever you want.
