ABC's
  • Advanced Alphabetizing - click on the Advanced Alphabetizing link on this Toon University web site to have students test their alphabetizing skills (alphabetizes on the third letter of each word)
  • Alphabet What-A-Mole - students must whack the moles in alphabetical order at this PlayKidsGame web site.  Other games are also available.
  • Hidden Numbers and Letters - locate hidden numbers and letters at this Etch-a-Sketch web site.  Enter at the main site, students enter first name, their name is drawn on an Etch-a-Sketch.  Then choose Cool Games and click on Hidden Numbers and Letters.

Consonants & Vowels

  • Froggy Phonemes - students choose frogs with different letters (CVC) to form words, or you can select what letters and blends you want to use with vowels.

Jeopardy Games

  • Hardin County Jeopardy Games - Jeopardy-like games on different topics and different grade levels.  Click on the link of the game you want to try and choose Open.

Letter Sounds

  • The ABC Game - at this PrimaryGames web site students will pick an object from three choices that begins with the letter shown at the top of the page.
  • Fuzzy Lion Ears - students will match a letter with the sound it makes at this PBS web site.

Phonics & Spelling

  • Spelling City - enter spelling words and then play one of several games utilizing the spelling words.

Rhyming Words

  • Orson's Farm - a visit to Professor Garfield's site has students match rhyming words with items on the farm.

Sentence Structure

  • The Patchworker - students drag words to the proper order to make readable sentences on this BBC web site.

Writing

  • Goodnight Stories - Goodnight Stories is an interactive Web site where students can write endings to stories, choose different directions within a story, and fill in a "mad lib" structure to make a silly story.
  • MakeBeliefsComix - Bill Zimmerman's web site that allows students to create a three panel comic strip using human or animal characters.
